FAQs

Q?

What kinds of materials do you use?

A.

To obtain the highest quality wool, the manufacturers that we exclusively work with hand select the best quality wool in numerous countries including Armenia, Egypt, Pakistan and the Caucasian highlands. The wool is acquired in the spring, when the sheep's winter coats are the most hardy and lustrous. This in turn allows our manufacturers to maintain the natural luster and hardiness of the wool which is hand processed.

We do not use any chemicals, bleaches or machines, which would make the process less expensive, but could undermine the wool's longevity. This also allows the final rug to have a natural finish which is healthier for children, pets and adults.

We use the highest quality dyes available, whether vegetable or chrome based. The dyes have to pass the test of allowing intentionally produced color variation and of maintaining color fastness in the home environment. When the rugs come off the loom, the colors seen then, are the colors you are enjoying now. We introduce no chemicals in the rinse, which could alter or disguise the original color. Additionally, all rugs are finished with attention paid to intricate detail and soap washed by hand.

Q?

Cleaning your rug

A.

The type of fabric a rug is made from determines how the rug is cleaned. Below are some helpful cleaning tips:

Acrylic, Cotton,  Rayon & Wool Rugs

Never use a rubbing motion –  liquid spills should be treated with a cleaning solvent matched to the material.

Wool rugs should be cleaned with a neutral detergent (Dawn® dishwashing liquid mixed with water) which helps accelerate drying.
“Oxy” cleaners on wool rugs are not advised, as they result in a fading effect to the dye in the rug.
Be sure to quickly blot dry with a towel using pressure. Do not use heat or let it air-dry completely. This will leave an odor.
If an all-over cleaning is require we recommend professional steam cleaning by a dedicated rug-cleaning service. Colors may show a slight change (no more than 5%) when cleaned. Darker tones are more susceptible.
For rugs with plush piles, do not use a dry powder cleaner. The cleaning residue will be difficult to remove. Dry powder cleaners are OK to use on surface stains on low pile rugs.
Do not use laundry detergents to clean wool rugs. The laundry detergent will leave a residue and alter color shades.

Silk Rugs

Should only be cleaned using a dry cleaning process.
Consult a reputable professional.

Helpful Hints

For liquid spills, dry both sides of your rug.
For liquid spills with color (soft drink, juice, etc.), sprinkle baking soda or salt on the spot to absorb the color. Leave for a few minutes and then vacuum.
Neutralize pet odors by sprinkling a mixture of 1 cup Borax and 2 cups cornmeal. Allow to stand for an hour before vacuuming. Many commercial cleaning products also work well to remove pet odors from rugs.
For cut-pile rugs, use your vacuums beater bar. Set it to the rugs pile level.
For hand-knotted, looped and braided rugs, do not use the beater bar. Only use the vacuums suction.

If you have any specific questions about the care or cleaning of your rug, please contact our Customer Service Department by sending an e-mail to: info@pricevaluerugs.com.

Q?

Will using my vacuum cleaner’s beater bar void my area rug warranty?

A.

Yes. Area rugs manufacturers specifically exclude damage by a vacuum cleaner, including the use of the beater bar. This is not a defect in the rug.

Q?

Manufacturer’s warranty

A.

Are area rugs covered by a manufacturer's warranty?
Yes. Each rug we sell comes with a full one-year manufacturer’s warranty. This warrants the rug against manufacturing defects in workmanship or materials for a one (1) year period from the date of the original purchase. The manufacturer will repair or replace, at its discretion, the rug without charge. Normal wear and tear is not warranted. To register a claim under this warranty, please contact Price Value Rugs Customer Service by calling 800-000-0000 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, or send an e-mail to: info@pricevaluerugs.com. Proof of original purchase is required.

Are there special warranty requirements?
You must purchase and use a suitable area rug pad under your rug for this warranty to apply.

What is not covered by a warranty?
Normal wear and tear is not warranted. In addition, there are outside elements that may affect your rug’s appearance over time. Many of these conditions are not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. These conditions are normal and are not considered manufacturing defects. These include, but are not limited to the following:
• Differences in color and texture from samples or from one rug to another
• Roll marks from shipping that will disappear with routine vacuuming
• Seam peaking from rolling the rug that will disappear with reverse rolling
• Shedding, which will decrease and stop over time
• Matting and crushing at pivot points and in traffic paths
• Highlighting and shading from light reflections
• Normal sprouting, pulls or loss of single tufts of fiber
• Exposure to sunlight, humidity, heat, chemicals or atmospheric gases
• Improper maintenance, including use of the vacuum cleaner’s beater bar
• Placing a non-water-resistant rug in a damp or wet area
• Damage caused by pets
• Improper cleaning, especially through use of a wet process

Exclusions and Limitations

The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover normal wear and tear plus certain inherent characteristics including, but not limited to, those described above, which may affect the product’s appearance and/or performance over time. It is only applicable to products placed in use indoors and in environments maintained at normal temperature and humidity. It does not cover tears, burns, cuts, pulls, or other damage, deterioration, stain, loss of color or appearance caused by abuse, or improper or inadequate maintenance. It does not cover products placed in use on stairs, ramps, or any area regularly subjected to wheeled or rolling apparatuses.

Remedy Exclusions
Liability and exclusive remedy of Price Value Rugs under this warranty is limited to actual repair or replacement. Price Value Rugs’s total liability shall not exceed the invoice amount to the original purchaser. Price Value Rugs is not responsible for bodily injury, property loss or damage, removal or relocation of furnishings, or any incidental or consequential damages or costs associated with repair or replacement.

Nontransferable

Warranties on Price Value Rugs’s products are intended for the protection of the initial purchaser and are not transferable to any other party.

Is shedding a defect?
All hand-made rugs exhibit some degree of shedding, as do rugs containing wool. This is normal and not a manufacturer’s defect. Although it can be frustrating, the amount of shedding will decrease over time and eventually stop. Regular and frequent vacuuming will help.

Q?

Guarantees

A.

Do you have a low-price or price-match guarantee?

Yes. Not only do we claim our prices are the lowest on the Internet, but we back this up with a 100% Price-Match Guarantee. If prior to your purchase you find a lower price from a local store, an online competitor or in a catalog for any item Price Value Rugs sells, we  match the lower price.

You must request the price match prior to placing your order. We will not honor a price match after your order has been processed.

How does an item qualify for a price match?

Many area rugs look alike but are not identical. To qualify for a price match, the competitors product must be the exact same brand, item number, pattern, material, size, quality of wool and weave, shape and color as the one we offer for sale. The competitor’s price must be verified at the time of purchase.

What items do not qualify for a price match?

We will not match prices on competitors products that are factory seconds, off-quality, clearance or closeout items. Price Value Rugs reserves the right to verify the items identity and competitors advertised price before honoring a price match. We also reserve the right to reject any price match request that we determine does not meet our policy’s qualifications.

Are there other price match restrictions?

We do not honor:

Prices that cannot be verified through a current online or printed advertisement
Prices on items that are out of stock or on back order
Prices in a written or verbal quote or on in-store signage
Prices that require a separate or additional purchase
Buy-one-get-one (BOGO) or free-with-purchase prices
Prices based upon membership in a preferred pricing or discount program
Prices reduced through a rebate or gift card promotion
Items advertised with a percentage discount instead of an actual price
Going out of business or closeout prices
Misprinted or typographic errors in the ads of other retailers

Can I combine a price match from Price Value Rugs with any of your other promotions?

No. If you accept a price match from us you cannot apply any other discounts, offers or promotions. Your purchase also will not qualify for any of our product rebates.

How does a price match affect sales tax, shipping charges or processing fees?

It doesn't. If applicable, these amounts are added to your price-matched order.

If you have any questions about our Price-Match Guarantee, please contact Customer Service.

Do you have an in-home trial?

Yes. If, for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, return it within 30 days and we will refund the full purchase price. You are responsible for the return shipping charges. Personalized, custom-made items and opened rug pads are not returnable, unless there is damage or a defect, in which case we will provide a replacement of the item you ordered.

How do you guarantee my privacy?

We carefully follow all online industry standards for customer security and privacy.

Q?

Shipping Information

A.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently we only ship to addresses in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. We cannot ship to PO Boxes or APO Boxes.

What do you charge for shipping?

Shipping is FREE on most orders to any address in the contiguous USA. A non-refundable processing & handling fee of $7.95 will be added to all orders.

Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Puerto Rico: In addition to the processing & handling fee of $7.95 you will be billed the actual shipping charge to your destination. This will be calculated and presented to you at the time of checkout. A shipping charge will also be added to your order for any promotional items, such as a free pad, runner or scatter. Canadian customers will be charged for all applicable customs duties, taxes, and brokerage fees in addition to shipping charges.

How do I track my order?

Most orders are shipped via UPS. If possible we will provide you with a tracking number so that you may monitor the location and progress of your order. If you have any questions related to the tracking of your order, please call our Customer Service Department toll-free at 888-464-1447 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday or send an e-mail to: info@pricevaluerugs.com.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Most items take between five to seven business days to ship, based upon the item’s availability. Delivery of items will be dependent on the size of the rug ordered and the shipping location. Most items deliver in two to three weeks. In some cases all of the items in your order may not ship together or in the same package. Rug pads and accessories will normally be sent in separate packaging.

It’s hard to accurately predict the delivery time of custom rugs. Some can be produced within a few weeks of the order, but a large, hand-knotted rug may take over six months to weave. Our Customer Service Department will try to keep you informed of the projected ship date as your custom rug is created.

How do I properly receive an oversized rug?

Prior to delivering your item, the carrier will contact you to schedule a convenient delivery appointment. Please be advised that the driver is only required to deliver the item “curbside” at the end of your driveway. Some drivers are willing to do more, but to be safe, if you require assistance to get the rug inside your home, please arrange for it prior to the arrival of the item.

Please carefully inspect your order upon delivery to insure the merchandise is not damaged. If you encounter a problem, please do one of the following:

FOR VISIBLE DAMAGE: If the packaging show visible signs of damage, open the item immediately to check the contents, and ask the driver to inspect the contents with you. Then write a precise description of the damage on both your copy and the freight carriers copy of the delivery receipt.

If you feel like this merchandise is damaged beyond repair then the merchandise should be REFUSED. If you feel like this merchandise is acceptable with the noted damages you should accept the merchandise and determine if this merchandise can be retained with an allowance.

FOR CONCEALED LOSS OR DAMAGE – NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE PACKAGING:
As soon as possible after delivery, unpack and inspect your shipment. Should you discover concealed loss or damage, report it to the freight carrier immediately and request an inspection within 15 days of the delivery date. Until you receive your inspection, please leave the containers and packing materials as they were when you first discovered the loss or damage.

REQUESTING AN INSPECTION:
After delivery, contact your local freight carrier’s service center or freight carrier’s customer service department to help you determine if an inspection and formal written report will be required. Occasionally the freight carrier may not have an inspector examine the damaged freight. Instead the freight carrier may request that you do the inspection yourself and keep a written description should a claim be filed later. Please note, however, that an inspection report is not a claim.

Please do not sign for items that are or may be damaged unless it is noted on the form. If you do not accept this merchandise due to damages contact Rugs Direct immediately and we will process a replacement order for you and handle all of the dealings with the freight company.

Remember, once you sign for the item or give permission to the freight carrier to leave the merchandise, you may be responsible for filing a claim with them if the merchandise has been damaged in shipping.
